Could the Name"Trump"be in Biblical Prophecy?
Updated: Feb 9, 2021
The events of these several weeks post-election between President Donald Trump and Joe Biden, and the blatant election fraud and misinformation that has been orchestrated to steal the presidency and undermine the voice of the American people has shaken and dismayed bible believing Christians to the core. These last few weeks I have had a range of emotions from righteous indignation to sadness to hopelessness. Knowing that the only thing I can do is to fall on my knees before the Lord in prayer and to dive deep into His word, I remind myself of His promises and that this world is not my home. Even though we cannot see the end from the beginning, God does! He is sovereign over all and will not forsake His people. I’m reminded over and over again in the book of Psalms, that He is also a righteous judge, and no one who practices evil and wickedness will escape the Judgement that is coming.
From a prophetic perspective, believers who study end time prophecy can clearly see that everything happening today is aligning exactly with the events that have been foretold in the scriptures. One of the verses in scripture that keep coming to mind is “at the last trump,” in 1 Corinthians. Starting in verse 15:51 the verse states “Behold I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, in a moment, in a twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.”
Is the Lord trying to tell us something here or give us a clue to the times we are in? Does “trump” somehow relate to Trump? Could the Rapture happen during his presidency or could he possibly be the fulfillment of the Gentiles bringing about the close of the Church Age? On its own, I would say no. But the fact that there are so many other prophecies being fulfilled and converging right now, all at the same time in history, causes me to wonder. It’s especially interesting that in the bible, God named or foretold people hundreds of years before they came on the scene, such as King Cyrus, Alexander the Great, and others. He HAS done this before and there are just too many coincidences; it's hard to ignore! Either way, I feel a strong urge to pray for President Trump, not so much that he will be elected as president again, but that he would repent and be saved before the coming wrath. I would encourage all believers to do the same, as God admonishes us in 1 Timothy 2:1 “Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.”
If you would like to study up on bible prophecy or have a better understanding of the end times and the days in which we are living in, I would encourage you to check out this great resource that I recently discovered www.ithasbeenwritten.com. There is a wealth of information on this site and it will give you a full picture of what is going on in our world in light of scripture.
This world is becoming increasingly wicked. Lawlessness is abounding and the love of many is growing colder by the hour; God’s Judgement is inevitable. Time is running out..Jesus is coming! If you haven’t done so already, admit you are a sinner in need of a Savior, believe in the Name that is above all names, call upon the Name of Jesus Christ and be saved! Friend, I urge you to do this today while there is still time. There is no guarantee of tomorrow.
